Lav redefines your salon experience with our proven hair care techniques

We believe in simplicity and thoughtful decisions that keep long term hair goals in mind. Our team uses chemistry and physics based concepts to educate clients on how to maintain a solid canvas for colour creation. This method promotes the use of pre-existing natural pigments and grey hair patterns to produce sun kissed creations inspired completely by each individual client.

Our priority is the long term happiness and health of the client and their hair. Because of this, Lav is not typically the place for aggressive colour transformations (taking darkest brown hair to a white blonde colour, naturally blonde hair to a permanent dark brown or solid shades of platinum). We simply do not feel comfortable delivering a product that is likely to become brittle and broken with time or that will grow out poorly. We love foils and colour, we just prefer to keep things within a healthy boundary.

Helen

Helen is a graduate of the Aveda Institute Toronto. She has been creating a wonderful list of regular clients that reflect who she is as a hairdresser. Helen is extremely whitty, joyful, easy to talk to and hard working. Her energy is contagious and makes everyone’s day better. She gives every client her full attention and is consistently asked to create her version of what will suit people best. People simply trust her and she has a great eye for what looks perfect.

Helen has so much knowledge about colour chemistry as well as how hair works and stays healthy. When you book with Helen, get ready to talk about cats, cool hobbies, thrifting, dance, and dark and handsome vampires. And don’t forget to ask about her trip to greece!

Raya

Raya has three diplomas, one of which “worked out really well.” First was contemporary dance with The School of Toronto Dance Theatre and the second was a hospitality diploma from george brown. During which time she constantly offered to cut or colour hair for friends and family, likely motivated by her Nonna who is also a hairdresser. Finally, one day while blow drying and styling her mom’s hair she said “I’m so unhappy at my 9-5 I wish I could just do this all day” to which the response was “why don't you?” Raya, an Aveda Institute graduate, brings her other education to the way she approaches hairdressing.

Her time in hospitality inspires her to create entire experiences for clients while the work ethic drilled into her from contemporary dance is evident in her long hours of dedication to her clients. Raya is currently expanding her techniques in collaboration with Helen in order to better accommodate clients and further elevate the experience.
